Way Ot!!! Any Jeep Guys Here ?
needin help ? any idea what its worth.hi guys had an ole buddy call me up the other day and cut me a deal on his jeep ,, i wanna know what its worth. it is a 1979 cj7 , it has all been dissasembled for restoration , his dad owns HALL'S STREETROD SHOP AND FABRICATION here in central illinois ,, also halls upholstery, you may have heard of them.the jeep has an almost new fiberglass tub, frame has all been fixed and seemed ready for paint. if the part would fit in the powder coater it went in it, most all parts that would fit were blasted and powder coated black . everything is there except for powertrain and top. the axles are dana 44's from a scout with all new bearings and gears with a power trak locker up front and an auburn posi unit in the back., the axles were also powder coated black ,along with new springs, all brakes are new, backing plates were powder coated black with new shoes and cylinders out back , windsheild is perfect along with the wshield frame , everything is there to put her together, and the cool thing about it is you wouldnt get dirty doing it , its like putting together a full size model of one . shes going to go on ebay in a week or so , i just need to know what to ask for a reserve, sorry for posting this here but i remember a couple few guys posting things about jeeps here so i didnt think anyone would mind one more, well let me know what you think ,if youre interested in it let me know ,it will take me about a week to catlog everything and get it ready
thanks Mac Frederick |

Ok, let me get this straight...
'79 CJ-7, no motor no tranny, but 44's. Fiberglass body. No top, all parts powdercoated or painted... And the whole thing is in pieces?! I know that 6G's can get you a pretty nice frame off restoration (in my area anyway). Since this rig is in parts, no drivetrain, I'm thinking it better be something special to be above 2G! In my opinion anyway, you have to put a lot of time and $$$ in random parts to get it back together, find a motor tranny t-case and driveshafts

Bought a 79 CJ7 last year with 304. New tires and wheels, runs like a top, body rough. $2200.00
New tub at AJ's= about $1800.00 New galvanized frame = $2200.00 New softtop = $800.00 You have the large items but no drivetrain. I say $2700-3000. See what happens.

I have to start by correcting my sister. I only own to jeeps so far I have and 85 cj-7 and a much sought after 88 MJ better known as a comanche. If I read and understood everything correctly it is a 79 cj7 with dana 44 front and rear. no motor, tranny or t-case and it is a basket case. glass body with all possible parts powder coated. I would have to say it would be worth around $1000-$2000 depending on the market. Does it have a lift or oversized tires? I think if you were to put the time into reassembling it, it would bring a much higher price. Probably closer to 3-4g's. Here are a few links to some bb's that might be of some help gathering info before you decide for sure to list it. This is one of my favorites: http://bbb.quadratec.com/ This one is by far one of the largest: http://jeepsunlimited.com/forums/ This is geared towards the hard core enthusiast: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/index.php? Another one I cruise: http://www.4xfools.com/ifwda/index.php And another: http://4wd.com/forums/ And another: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/index.php And another: http://jeepboard.com/cgi-bin/UBB/ultimatebb.cgi And another: http://gljt.org/ I hope these help in your thirst and desire for information and who knows mabye the bug will bite you and you'll decide to keep it.

thanks for all the help and info ,, i owned a 5 when i was in highschool , every time i shifted and let out on the clutch the stick would pop me in the knee ,, because of the busted tranny mount, last time i was driving it i was going to school down the highway and a semi went passed me ,, when he did the top flew up then slammed down over my face,, that was my last jeep expieriance plus i need money pretty bad right now and i knew there was profit to ba had with it. my brother in law has a 78 cj7 with 35 inch hawgs and a 400 small block chevy , it is pretty sharp hugger orange with a black hardtop and doors with big black lake pipes,, ahhh quit it , i cant keep it ,,just cant ,,hahaha
