Check the ground strap off the passenger side head to the fire wall. You can't see it you have to feel for it. Those symptoms are consistant with that strap being left off when the engine or heads have been pulled.

Speedo should be mechaincal. So it's a seperate problem. There should be a fuse for the gages. I think it listed "dash", gage or "inst". Check all the fuses. Use a test light and you can test for power on both sides of the fuse without having to pull each fuse.
I think your going to find problems under the hood and not in the truck. It's either that grond strap or it's lost a Fusable link down at the starter. I'm betting the ground strap. The bolt in to the head is a 3/8's by 1/2 long.

I've got the same problem, no oil or temp. The temp has never worked, but the oil stopped recently. I replaced the oil sender and it started working again. Still no water though...
BTW> How could a fusible link be the culprit? |

On the back of the intake manifold, near the distrubutor. Mine looked sort of like a bell.

well the speedometer gauge started working today probably a loose connection some where. and the temperture gauge is working. I finally took it up to the mountains 2 weeks ago and the gauge actually worked I guess the daily driving it does it's only 14 round trip so probably doesn't get an chance to really warm up.
