Rear fuel tank without removing bed
I built brackets and installed a Camaro tank but I'm not happy with how low it hangs. My bed floor is in rough shape and I really don't want to try to move it because it's going to turn into a bed restoration. Had anybody installed a blazer tank or a fuel cell without removing the bed? I don't mind putting in and dropping a few times to get the fitment right.

Re: Rear fuel tank without removing bed
Installled a 90's 31 gallon Blazer tank in my 72. All fitment was done with the bed on. Page 4 post #99 in my build thread is where the tank stuff starts.

Is that one of the baffled ones for efi? I'd love that much capacity if it won't cause ground clearance issues

Re: Rear fuel tank without removing bed
I installed the Boyd tank without removing the bed and I didn't use their mounting kit. I backed the truck up on a set of ramps and installed everything from underneath. I also installed the fuel line, filter and regulator as I went to EFI. The tank inlet was installed behind the tail light, which required most of it being done from underneath also.
Here's how I felt after it was installed. |
