60-66 GMC Diesel badges
I have seen exactly one type of diesel badge on a GMC and it was a "Toro Flow Diesel" badge with the V like standard 305 trucks would have. Did they ever use a different badge for the detroit diesel trucks? I'm just gathering ideas on my truck which is getting a diesel swap but I kinda like the badges on hood but want them to be appropriate for the truck so V8 diesel but I would just settle for it saying Diesel inside the round area of at the top of the V |

One idea is to find a pair of the GMC V8 emblems (that's a challenge) for the 637 and have a trophy shop make you a custom "Diesel" label to place over the Magnum part.

Re: 60-66 GMC Diesel badges
Up to '65, GMC 'B' and 'L' (Steel Tilt) trucks with Detroit Diesel 6V-71's would often have the round V6 emblem. The aluminum tilts with 8V-71's would use the early '55-'59 V8 emblem on the front of the cab. To my knowledge, GMC never had a V8 Diesel emblem.

Re: 60-66 GMC Diesel badges
TY guys. Only GMC I ever saw that included the word diesel was the toro flow and it was odd that it doesn't say "6" in oval along with it. I certainly don't want to misrepresent my truck as having a rare motor like the toro flow but don't want to lose the emblems either. Maybe best low buck option would be to modify my current ones to just say diesel in the area where "6" currently is since they aren't a rare part like the V8 ones.
Chevy on the other hand seemed to just put the word diesel under the model on the emblem. [ 50 ][ 60 ] [Diesel ][ Diesel ] |
