Wiper motor removal
What’s the easiest way to remove the wiper motor on my 71 without air conditioning, looks like a real pain ! Do I have to remove the outer cowl ?

I have done it without removing the cowl. The problem is not removing it but getting the transmission arms re-connected and the clip installed when you put it back together. Mark the transmission arms and which end of the wiper pivot they go on before removing them. Be careful removing the clip there is a small locking tab on the clip that you have to raise up to remove it and they are easy to break off. The three mounting bolts are easy enough to remove without A/C if you don't have a problem laying on your back under the dash. they are either 1/4 or 5/16" head. I cant remember for sure. There are three wiring connectors to disconnect, two on the wiper and one on the washer pump. Be sure and note how the connectors are oriented because they have to be connected exactly the same way when re-installing. Any other questions let us know...... LockDoc
