Crate motor

I just purchased this used crate motor for my 71 C10 . Can anybody tell me who may have manufactured / rebuilt it ? It has a sticker on the drivers side of the block that says manufactured by Non OE Z614452 . Thanks .

Re: Crate motor

From what I can tell it looks like the 260 horse ATK motor .

Re: Crate motor

It looks like a late cast engine from Mexico.

Re: Crate motor

I think LG stands for natural gas engine. The round thing attached to the head will indicate if the engine has ever overheated.

Re: Crate motor

Same motor I have in my DD now. I bought one of these on ebay 9 years ago for $1270 delivered. The only difference I can see is this later model motor has two bolt mains, the 2014 7353 motors were 4-bolt main blocks. This has been an excellent motor with an Edelbrock Performer Air Gap 2601 intake, 561-34002 Jet Quadrajet and MSD HEI, Hedman Elite headers. It's been in a bag on a stand for years until 2 years ago when I installed it in one of my 72 C/10's, great motor, no complaints! Here's your motor offered by Jegs, they are made in Mexico for GM and all the big warehouses by ATK located in Texas.
https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/059/7353/10002/-1 Make no mistake however as these motors are new castings assembled in Mexico and distributed by ATK. Notice in the discription that it says, "compare to GM 12681429" That's the discontinued 4-bolt main motor that I bought years ago... https://www.jegs.com/i/Chevrolet-Per...81429/10002/-1

Re: Crate motor

Thanks for the confirmation . I bought this used out of a Toyota 4x4 pickup that was being parted out . The seller had posted a video of it running before it was purchased , sounded really good .
