gas tank question
My tank has 3 outlets on the sending unit but I only need 2 . the charcoal canister has been taken out some time ago. Question is do I plug the third line up or does it need to vent.

Assuming the two in use are the suction line to the fuel pump and a return from the pump, then Yes, the third outlet is a vent. OEM solution prior to the canister was a differential vent at the end of a short hose.

Vents are typically the center outlet I believe. My "code M" 84 C20 had vents on both tanks from the factory.

missing information, what year tank/sending unit, probably add a picture for future searches? 1987 for example, feed, return roll over/charcoal/vent... if you plug the charcoal/vent your going to have problems. system will now be sealed. so when the engine is running, its using fuel, now the pump is now pulling a vacuum on the fuel tank and will cause driveablity issues.. if you run the vent right off the tank, you might smell fumes in the garage I ran the vent to the OEM vent line that goes to the front frame rail... its just open. no fumes what so ever in the garage.... fumes/vapors turn back into solid, and solids roll down the line back into the tank.. cliff notes, dont plug it

thanks and sorry I forgot to say the year. I always assume everyone knows what I have. But I have my answer, don,t plug the line. I will go get one of those vent tubes for the rearend and put that in the hose line
