2" drop spindles...or not
Finally got the '53 on the road, Mustang II builder kit on the front end with 2" drop spindles....just a little too low for my taste. Will a change to stock height spindles raise it 2"...or more? The truck has about 700 miles on it so the springs should be relaxed.

I try to talk people out of dropped spindles for that reason. My mustII springs didn't settle out for a couple years and 2 long haul Hot Rod Power Tours. Dragging metal on driveway and gas station aprons isn't a good sound

My ongoing truck projects: 48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six. 71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant. 77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around. |

I used 2" drop spindles and I like the stance and ride, although, if you are running a big block might be a consideration to think about

maybe you could find out what the spindles were from and find a used set to try out for the cheaper option, or just bite the bullet and get a new set of standard spindles that fit your application.
like ogre says though, some springs take awhile to get their set. curious, do your lower control arms sit level at ride height? |
