Milage suffering on 94

Milage on my 94 has been averaging about 13 mpg for a long time now. Used to get about 15 average, as much as 17 on highway. Just thought drop was due to 150k+ on the motor. Upon investigation I found that the fresh air flap in my air cleaner is always closed, it no longer opens. I searched for a replacement actuator and cannot find one For the time being I have wired it open and the result is much better milage. In a warmer climate so maybe not a big deal. Any help finding a replacement would be appreciated.

I had same issue years back on one of mine. Ran it 4 or 5 years before I found a working used one in PicknPull. Never could find new.

Re: Milage suffering on 94

Are there any numbers on the actuator?

You could try searching those numbers if there is any.

Sometimes they use the same parts other places on the vehicle.

Look at this thread:

GM part #25099172 Does anyone know where I can get one? I went to the dealer and they said it was discontinued...

It shows it here for $57.63

Re: Milage suffering on 94

Thank you for the links! While that oem cat site shows "instock" it is just a generic site that links to others. It says GM parts giant has it but shows discontinued as all others do. I no longer use them anyway as they sent me the wrong part once and wanted a restock fee for their mistake. Thank you for the part number as I can now cross reference for a used or new part.
