3 tree doesn't have holes for shifter alignment?

Went to adjust under the hood shifter
Do Not See or really feel a hole thru the arms for a drill bit
I almost feel maybe a indention or the top of a hole if those arms petruted more from the column

I wasn’t able to find the holes on my 62 column shifter either.. I put the levers on the trans in neutral and then just eyeballed where they both looked centered at the top. Seems to work ok.
