What trouble are you experiencing? It's hard to say with no context and an up close photo. I recently had trouble getting my front end components to move through their full range of travel after a power steering box swap. After fighting with it for two days I realized I received the wrong steering box. After getting the correct box, everything lined up perfectly. Attach a photo of your whole pitman arm and steering box so we can get a better look.

The problem is that rubber gasket. I don't it should be smashed and deformed like it is. I torqued it to factory specs. Is there even supposed to be a gasket at that location?

The seal keeps dust/moisture out. Depends on part manufacture what type of seals they use.
