Door grazing fender when opening

What would be my easiest solution to trying to make the door gap just a hair wider?

Just noticed it grazes the fender when I open it.

Thought I’d ask before I likely make it harder than it has to be

Thanks

I know there's some adjustments on the door hinges, but maybe the cab mounts are shot.

How's the gap at the back of the door?? If it's ok, the fender needs to go forward a bit. If the gap is wide, move the door back a bit.. All the restorers "shoot" for 3/16" gap.. All you need is about 1/8" more clearance.. The fender is bolted solidly to the cab, so cab mounts don't effect that gap..

That's a fairly easy adjustment. The cowl panel will need to be loosened. Once you get the fender where you want it, then also adjust the cowl panel to share the same gap to the door as the fender.

From this picture it looks like it's the fender needs to forward. As mentioned, if other door gaps like good then fender for sure

Re: Door grazing fender when opening

Okay, great. So take the coke off and loosen the fender bolts in there and push the fender forward a hair and re-tighten?

You will want to loosen two top fender to cowl bolts, one rocker extension tab to fender bolt, and the large rear inner fender skirt to floor brace bolt, and gently move forward to achieve the desired gap. Then tighten all bolts.

Re: Door grazing fender when opening

Thanks for the guidance. Removed the cowl this am and got that fender forward a hair. Doesn’t hit anymore.

Merry Christmas
