speaker help

i have not messed with radios in along time.what is a good 10" sub there is so many names out there i dont no whats good or not.are the mtx any better than they was 10 years ago.just want something decent not trying to win no competions.

will a 10 sound good in a 18/20"h x18"w x7" deep at bottom and 5" deep at top box.was planning on laying the boxes on their back under the seat
i have a 90-s model seat and it sets up higher than the stock seat .thanks for your help

with that box, you will have to calculate the airspace and buy a sub that works in it. A sub in too much or too little airspace will sound really bad. Also could damage the speaker. Figure your airspace, then look around for a sub that works in it. I used to do car stereo when I was in college, and I've seen what a box that is the wrong size can do to a speakers sound. Guys would build the biggest box they could fit in their trunk, then buy an expensive set of JL Audio 10W-6 speakers. When the airspace was wrong, a cheap speaker from Best Buy would sound better. Every speaker is made to work in a specific amount of space. Just be sure you have the right space for the speaker.
