All original 68 short bed
Sitting in bed browsing FB when this gem got posted 4 miles from my home. Needless to say, I shot over and made him an offer. Needs some love, but she’s a killer all original paint short bed. Check out those speakers in the glove box door. Thankfully the original spid is still there.
Plan to work on this one and keep it all original. Love the 292 4 speed. Original family truck. Came with a new seat cover. Needs a good tune up but she runs. |

Re: All original 68 short bed
Great find!
Too bad the glovebox door got hacked up. I can imagine it sounded like total crap.

Re: All original 68 short bed
Nice find. Other than the "sound system", looks to be unmolested and all there. Car caps are cool with me, but I guess you want originals? I dig that 292/4spd combo, too. Was it a ranch truck?

Re: All original 68 short bed
I love seeing these survivors. Wish I didn't have the tin worm around here. All of the trucks here became one with the soil decades ago.
The '68 will go well with your blue '70.

Re: All original 68 short bed
What a beauty, I have dreams of finding something like that.
Pretty cool that its a 292 truck, that can't be common in a swb.

Re: All original 68 short bed
Thanks for the compliments.
I actually like the caps too. Seeing how this took the last of my toy stash, I’ll probably just get her running well and clean her up as is. |

Re: All original 68 short bed
That's a dead ringer for my grandfathers old truck! Keep it running and enjoy it.

Re: All original 68 short bed
I don't think I've ever seen a glovebox door modified in such a way for such a reason, that is interesting.
What is underneath the white upper paint? Is it simply red primer? Cool truck for sure. |

'68 / 292 / 4 Speed -- winning combo for me too.

Re: All original 68 short bed
I wouldn't think there were too many 1/2T, short bed, 292/ 4speed trucks built in the first place. Much less survived this long in original form. That's awesome! Luck is on your side for sure!

Re: All original 68 short bed
That's bad! I'd still be giggling like a schoolboy. Sorry about the glove box door.
I found a one family '68 long bed farm truck last August with 59k original miles, all original drive train, even original rear brakes. Not in the same condition as yours, this one was left outside has some rust, but otherwise very solid truck. Runs and rides like a dream now that I've caught most of the repairs/maintenance up to date. |

Re: All original 68 short bed
Great looking truck, congratulations! It has a great look. At least they didn't completely destroy the SPID with the custom audio work.

Re: All original 68 short bed
Sweet truck!
292 is nice and probably rare in a short bed
