Front sway bar install

Today I installed the front sway bar. It is FSBK6372 from POL. I bought the front and rear in a kit. Nice looking bar, I can see it making a difference.

Looks great, I went with the CCP brackets and an original front bar.

Same here. Factory 1 1/8" bars really help these trucks out. Not sure I need a rear bar now.

What is the purpose of using the sway bar frame stand off bracket vs just attaching the mount to the frame?

I don’t know for sure, but this bar from POL was designed to mount on frame. I’m guessing the bar is contoured so it can be mounted like that. Maybe the bars that use the mounting bracket are straighter. I noticed some sway bar kits have short and tall mounts in case your truck has been lowered.

Not sure, but that’s how the General did it originally. I used an original sway bar and my truck sits at factory height so I didn’t feel like reinventing the wheel.

IMHO adding a 1 1/8 front sway bar vs none make a big improvement in handling (body roll). My 72 did not come with one so I installed the one I got from LMC

It’ll be the difference between night and day.
I put mine on many years ago, and was immediately satisfied with the way it firmed up everything.
I got mine from an old salvage yard frame in NC.
I got it for a steal but had to put in the “Sweat Equity” by removing the perches by hand. (I used a little saws all, a chisel, a 4lbs sledge, and a pry bar, to cut the factory rivets)
Mid-July heat in Fayetteville NC is no joke.

Same thing I did, scratched it all off of a 2500, frame brackets and all. I've done several trucks like this, world of difference. Especially when you use Energy Suspension bushings.

My '67 build has QA1 front and rear, It's not quite ready to go on the road but I'm getting close(and super anxious!).
I went with 2" drop spindles and 650# springs on the front with dual adjustable shocks.
What settings are you running on the shock adjustments?
I know it may take some "dialing in" .....just looking for a starting point for the best all around ride/handling settings.
I'm running an all aluminum LS1 so it's about 100# lighter in the front than a standard small block.

Got to agree. Of all the tinkering I've done, the front sway bar and headlight relays have made the most difference to me.

I also added a rear sway bar, the difference with both is unbelievable. The truck maneuvers much better.

I too have an all aluminum 5.7 LS1. My shocks are single adjustable 2” spindles
And #750 springs (recommended by QA). Im at 6 in the front and 4 in the rear
Nice thing is if you don’t like it you have 18 adjustment points that can be made in a matter of minutes

These pictures help. The directions included from POL aren't that helpful.

Was trying to figure out how the 'L' bracket was going on to the front Arm.

Do you have any pics of the rear installed?

You put a 70's C10 on a 2500 chassis? Any pics?

I wasn’t able to get the correct link. I took some pictures of the rear sway bar. Let me know if you need different pictures.

And one other question. The bolts going on the trailer arm, are they positioned on each side of the ‘C’ shaped bar?

When I picked them up at POL, the salesman told me that would be the position.

Just checking in with someone who has installed them.
