Factory A/C to heat only swap
Hello, has anyone swapped out the factory A/C unit for a heat only setup? if so, would you mind providing details and if any changes need to made to the firewall? Are there any aftermarket kits that would use the factory control panel? Thanks.

Re: Factory A/C to heat only swap
Here is a thread about differences in firewall. https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...d.php?t=407652
If I were doing something like that, I would sign up for premium membership here on the forum and post a want-to-buy ad in the parts section for a good condition engine compartment and in-cab heater boxes and controls, and post your engine compartment and in-cab A/C boxes and controls for sale. I would bet there are people with heat-only that want the parts to go A/C. You might end up with a pretty much even trade. I suggest the fewer after market parts, the better. The floor to defrost diverter box centered above the hump is same between heater and A/C systems.

Here's another option, I have one but haven't installed it yet.
