Striker plate seam sealer alternative question
Hey guys,
I recently removed my striker plates because I installed sound deadener and to refinish them and upon doing a search, I realized that the goop that was on them is seam sealer. I don't really have another use at this time for seam sealer. Is there an alternative that I can use, would gasket maker work just as well?

Re: Striker plate seam sealer alternative question
Hmmm. I've never noticed seam sealer used on any of my 50s-80s vehicles' striker plates.
Wouldn't work out too well if you had to make an adjustment later on. Might have been done by some previous owner.

Re: Striker plate seam sealer alternative question
I have seen the seam sealer or whatever it is on several trucks. I have not ever put anything back on them.
The last ones I blasted and had done in black zinc, then reinstalled dry. |
