Looking for info on 12 bolt posi

I have a 72 c-10 with trailing arm susp.
I have one tire fire. Is there a planetary
setup that I can get to go in my rear end to give me posi, like say out of a newer truck,or do I have to replace the whole rear end with a posi diff. I would like 3.55
or 3.73. Also I was reading somewhere about using mid 90's caprice calipers and
rotors with the coversion brackets. Is this a good route or is there a better way.
Any help would be appreciated,thanks.

You could buy a locker setup that can go in place of your spider gears. There is no such thing as a planetary setup for this type of rear end. Or, you could buy a posi differential and have it installed in your housing. You might be able to find a complete posi rear end and swap the entire thing. It's up to you. 3.08, 3.73 and 4.11 were what were in these trucks. There was no 3.55 option, but you can buy them aftermarket. You must use parts for a 12 bolt truck rear end, I think from 60-75ish. The newer trucks are not the same.
