Pic of tilt shift indicator

Anyone have a pic of their tilt shift indicator. I'd like to make sure I installed mine correctly.

On another note....so many of these truck reproduction parts are frustrating. Anyone notice that the new tilt shift lens has a different pattern on it? It has D 2 1 while the original has D L2 L1. Another new part I threw in the corner. I guess I'm to brainwashed by the Corvettes I've worked on.

I'm gonna watch this one too, because I tried to replace the indicator ( pointer arm) and it was stuck somewhere on the bottom lip that keeps it up close to the lense and ended up fracturing it off back to where I started with the previous . Maybe I was putting it in wrong or it needed some trimming somewhere. I don't know but hopefully somebody will.

When I bought my tilt column I was told not to even bother putting on the indicator because all the new aftermarket ones just break off after a few days.

I don't think this is a tilt but it's the best I could find it's a very nice dash at any rate..

I don't have a picture of the indicator as it will be difficult to show the detail that you need to install it correctly. I will try describe the installation.

Start with the tilt all the way down. Make sure that the indicator will slide freely in the indicator guide.

Assemble the indicator to the indicator housing. It clips onto the guide rail and the red line rests on the housing. The housing is "trapped" between the upper and lower arm of the indicator.
(The lower arm has two tangs that the guide sets into).

Install the indicator dial.

Holding the assembly together, carefully feed the indicator into the indicator guide in the shift housing. You have to hold the assembly close to the housing and just wiggle it in place. Don't force it. Once the indicator housing is in place you can install the two hold down screws.

Good luck!

That's exactly how mine was put in, but the bottom tab that keeps it pulled up to the lense got jammed in its slot and broke off.
