i don't mean to hi jack the thread or anything but i was always wondering how your vents worked on the inside of the cab with a smooth cowl? isn't all the air that comes through them come from the cowl? maybe i am missing something. if anyone could share with me how it works, thank you

Vents?!?! We don't need no stink'n vents.....no seriously I have removed the vents and I am using the driver side vent cavity to hold my fuse panel - they will be totally covered later.

hope this helps it's a thread i started should answer your question about vents. Seems to me that smoothing the cowl would help eliminate leaves and junk from getting down in kick pannel and causing rust just a thought. Cody |

has anyone done this modification and what did they use to do it? or known/seen it done in more detail.
I am thinking of doing this to mine and using 18 or 20ga steel and cutting it to fit the slotted area and the welding it in place, and then of course finishing it out with metal work and then filler. Or did they cut individual fillers for each slot and weld, or use fiberglass(seems it would crack out from the weird palce to work it) If any one knows thanks. If not I am going to use 20ga and cut it to cover the whole area and work it smooth.

I'd also like to know about the vents. Would installing a smooth cowl prevent air from getting to the vents (my only a/c)?
Thanks. |

if you shave the vents it will affect the a/c and heat due to the fact that in the fresh air mode it pulls air from the cowl area and the kick vents are fed by that area also.
but the fresh air aintake for the a/c heat can be moved to another area like the side of the cowl inside the fender but you may get engine heat and fumes too
