1955-1959 Inner Fender to Cab Brace.

We bought a truck that was in pieces and we're trying to figure out where these pieces go. Pics would be very helpful.

they bolt up to the firewall and hold the inner fenders down low near the frame. they go on both the same direction, not like a mirror image side to side. I forget which way they face but they both face the same direction, you may have to check the assembly manual for that tidbit.

Unfortunately, there are no holes on rge firewall that match that. That's what originally thought.

Re: 1955-1959 Inner Fender to Cab Brace.

is your firewall a stock one or has it been replaced or repaired at some time? there would be studs sticking out on the engine side if I remember correctly. you could look on the inside for where they would be spot welded on as there would be some marks but, in reality, if there is nothing on the engine side that lines up in the area where the inner fenders have the hole for the rubber grommets and inserts then you will need to make your own mounts. the assembly manual has a diagram showing the firewall and all the dimensions for holes, and mounting points.. it is a free download from the trifive site. google
55-59 chevrolet truck factory assembly manual
and click on the trifive site. i suggest to grab a copy of that on a thumb drive or in your documents if you are in the assembly stage, or the dissassembly stage, or in the I wonder stage, etc

Re: 1955-1959 Inner Fender to Cab Brace.

note the spacer on the bolt, so that you can snug up the bolts without squeezing out the anti-squeak rubber washers. a piece of 3/8" tubing will do in a pinch.
