1960-66 suburban body mounts

Does anyone know the business that makes body mounts? I had their info but lost it. They were specific to 60-66, think they were 175$ for a set. Any help/info appreciated, tia

Re: 1960-66 suburban body mounts

I just spoke to the Truck Shop in Orange, CA and they told me that kit has been discontinued. They also gave me the name of the place that was making them, Restoration Specialties in Pennsylvania. They were told the tooling was worn out and they did not sell enough of them re-do the tooling. Damn, I need two sets.

How did the tooling wear out if they didn't sell many? Sounds like a cop-out. They just don't want to be bothered.

Re: 1960-66 suburban body mounts

I think I have a full set from Car and truck shop I didn’t use, I’’ll see if I can find them all.
I ended up using a urethane set from AZ Pro Performance
https://azproperformance.com/collect...63-66-suburban

The Pro Performance set includes the hardware.

Re: 1960-66 suburban body mounts

I just ordered the 20 piece set from Restoration Specialties. They said they had to make them and would probably take a week or so to be ready to ship. No hardware included. I'll report back when I receive them.

Re: 1960-66 suburban body mounts

Got some bad news. Received a call from Restoration Specialties yesterday saying their equipment broke and they do not sell enough of them to warrant a repair. Really disappointed as I have two that need these mounts.

Curious as to how these worked for your Burb, do you have any photos or feedback? Is there a instruction sheet showing which one goes where?
Thx!

Roy

Sorry for the slow reply. I didn't get a notification.

These didn't come with instructions but it was fairly easy to figure out where they went. The larger bushings go at the front. All of the rest are the same.

There are 2 urethane parts for each location ( top and bottom) with the steel bushings that go through the center. In some of the locations the steel bushings were too long ( nut bottomed out on steel bushing before there was any pressure on the urethane part).

Also, the bottom portion on the 2 piece urethane for the majority of these ( see photo) The center opening is too big, so it's hard to center them.

Unfortunately my Suburban is a long way from driving so I can't say how well they perform. I was going to sell the set of stock type bushing I have but I plan to hang on to them until this is drivable.

Thanks for the feedback... was wondering how the round ones fit vs the rectangular.

Re: 1960-66 suburban body mounts

FYI - GM used the same parts and part number for body mounts all the way to the end of the square body suburbans. If you can't find them for the 60-66's, then look at the 67-91's.
