Turn signal canceling spring part number

Trying to fix my turn signals as it only cancels on right turns. Left turns no longer canels. I am thinking the canceling cam return spring is broken ap trying to find replacement parts. I see dorman makes a couple different types (ex Dorman P/N 49312) so trying to confirm the correct kit part number. Has anyone bought a set and successfully installed them?

The springs by the orange arrows are what I am looking for.

Over the years I've replaced (I'm guessing) 100s of those springs.. As long as the plastic is still intact, the replacement spring works very well. According to the Dorman site, 49312 is still a good number.. Fits Chevrolet 1969 - 2001

On the OEM springs one was Red and the other Blue.

Better look at mine, only cancels about 1/2 the time.. seems left is far less reliable.

Dorman P/N same for 67?

Well I went and bought a set last night. Probably wont be able to try and get them in until later this week, so I will see if the fix the problem.

As far as I could tell these are correct for most GM no tilt columns. I think....think... they work for tilt columns also, as it is the canceling cam that I think changes on between the non-tilt and tilt.

If the spring is broken, the T/S switch will not cancel at all. Check plastic where the spring mounts for cracks before you condemn the spring.. Also there is a "right" and "left" spring.. The springs are "mirror images" of each other...

Another thing that might cause your problem.. If the steering wheel is not centered, proper canceling may not occur during slight turns.

They're not mechanically nor electrically related other than part of the horn relay ground path is contained in the T/S switch and canceling cam.

Well go the dorman 49312 kit installed tonight. Found the bottom spring (that cancels the left turn signal) was missing. Took the signal cam body out, clean everything up and put it back together with the 2 new springs. Everything works like a charm now.

Spring kit I used was Dorman's PN 49312

I also found the spring cam kit with the springs and the body. Dorman's PN 49300
