Re: Gas Cap decal
That decal is not a GM decal. That is a much later government requirement as seen on replacement caps. I would permanently remove it.

Re: Gas Cap decal
The one I bought faded to clear translucent in less than a year outside. not complaining because I didn't want the sticker on there in the first place, but if a guy did want the sticker on there then be warned it will disappear quickly.

Re: Gas Cap decal
I'd rather have the older original ones like the OP has. the new ones are a cheap imitation. compare the quality of the steel and the mold on OP's with the gates one. you can just replace the gasket without replacing the whole cap.

Re: Gas Cap decal
The cap he has is an aftermarket cap it’s not an original cap

Re: Gas Cap decal
Thanks guys for all the input, all valid points. In retrospect I think I’ll just buy a new one, less work

Re: Gas Cap decal
You would never see a sticker like that if people used their brains. Today any owners manual clearly states “Do Not Drink The battery Liquid” ! This is a direct result of our failed education system.

The Stant brand has that, but I usually remove them.
