Seriously Contemplating Selling......

I know I joked about it.....I never ever planned on selling my baby...but....I am just not feeling it lately and on top of it all....I dont have room for it. And wont for the next 5-6 years or so. I absolutely wont sell it for a loss so that is putting me in a bad spot. We all know how much (give or take) some of us dumbbutts have put in our trucks haha. So that makes it impossible to get that out of them and I dont expect to get that for it.

Feasibly....How much do you think I would be able to get out of my truck if I were to sell it? Im gonna fix the carb and do a few things to it like fix the rust..then I might see if I can find a Buyer.

This is a sad day...but I know I could always buy another someday and do it. I have always had a fond love of these trucks and it will never go away...so that is a non issue.

the hardest part with something as heavily modified as yours is finding someone with the same taste as yours that has money. If you do end up selling it, good luck.

jeez dave i cant believe youre even considering it. youve been proudly owning that truck since i was on the old 73-87chevytrucks.com , and then you even then you had owned it for a while. Its a shame to see it go after all that t ime and work, which youd never get back half of what its worth. Are ya sure you cant store it , even in a storage place? i have a feeling youll be kicking yourself for that one hell i love your truck and i dont like lowered trucks!

Why wont you have room? Theres crap loads of self storage places around you could put it in and cover her up. Either that or sell the 'bird. You know you don't want to sell your truck. A man and his truck= a beautiful thing.

I agree with everyone else, you will be kicking yourself in the arse. Keep it in appreciation for what you have done to it.

I say sell it if your done with it. When I feel im done with mine and its finished (heh, yeah right) Im gonna sell it. But im doing everything on there very tastefully so It will have some nice resale.

My next ride will probobly be a Z28 or maybe a 2 Door Tahoe and lay it out. I wanna go fast! I still have a lot of things I want to do with the truck though, so it wont be leaving anytime soon.

Heads/Cam, Rims, Bags(?), Paint... well, actually not too much I still want to do. Its just a lot of money to get there

I agree, btw my post was meant to be funny but didn't look like it. Hell you have a nice bike and a nice car no need to have a truck sitting around that nice not getting as much attention as it could with someone else.

I know guys....It sounds like I must have took a hit of acid lol
But I am just not the kind of person to have something in storage rotting away. I cant afford to do the stuff to it I want right now. I dunno. I might just for the hell of it put it on ebay and see what kind of interest it generates. LIttle I imagine. just set a high reserve price and see how it goes. that way if someone is ignorant, they will own it.

I cant sell the bird..that is my primary transportation holmes!! lol 30 mpg and 300rwhp on tap always lol

Whats the list of stuff or how much you got into it? You are more than likely going to take a loss.

I had a guy offer me $6000 when mine was on ebay, and I should have taken it. Mine will be going up for sale in the spring. I just want it to go to someone who will enjoy it. Mine has not seen the road, nor been registered for almost 8 months now. I do start it though.

I agree with r0lf-. If you are loosing interest in it, then its only going to go down hill from there. I have been at this same point for a couple of years now.

Sell it.

can someone give this guy a reality check? Dave's truck is worth "not much more than 10,000 Canadian" and yet his is worth 6500 with a wimpy set of stock axles under it.

Love the truck not the rims tho but you better think more down to earth on price id say if you were lucky you might find someone for no more than 15,000.

You are going to take it in the a$$ to get rid of this truck but you had to know that going in. I think we all know that this is a hobby and we will never get out what we put in (dollar wise). You had fun though, and you learned alot and made new friends--so subtract whatever that's worth to you from your stack of receipts and sell it for that.

On a side note--you said you don't have the $ to do what you want to the truck. Well quit dumping money into the car and bike and put that in the truck :p. I understand though--I sold my '79 a few months ago because I simply didn't have the time to finish it and my Harley.

Don't sell it, Dave. Put the other vehicles on hold and put money into the C10 (Example: Bags!).

Not knowing how bad the rust is, and assuming you will fix it, your truck will bring in $10,000 American easy Dave. You baby that truck and it shows...sellers will see that as well, which will make it easier for them to pay a little extra for it.

If you aren't going to drive it, and you aren't able to do what you want with it for quite some time...then definately sell it. It sounds like you are trying to get your life in order, and that is more important than anything.

Good luck Dave with whatever you decide, and keep us posted on your decision.

BTW - does that mean you are going to leave us? What about your SN...might have to change that to...well...I won't say, but I bet you know what I'm thinking.
