Original A/C Service Port Caps?

What did they look like? Brass or aluminum? Acorn or ribbed?

Take a look at A/C sites. I have new ones on my new POA valve and new "muffler" connected to the new compressor. Mine are plastic.

I have a completely original 72. It still has the rubber plug in the sight glass. I can take a look at it in the next day or 2 & see what they are.

That’s what I’ve put on it and what I think is correct. Grabbed a couple off an outdoor a/c unit. Not sure if that’s what was there originally. Reason I ask is what I found here. Brass and aluminum versions. Don’t recall ever seeing these on a system so not sure and want to confirm.

I’ve been pulling vintage AC parts at the junkyards for years, imo either cap would be correct. Here are some original poa valves I’ve pulled.

Thanks. Are they always aluminum or did they vary between brass and aluminum?
