RIP Jimmy Carter

I just heard that Jimmy Carter passed away.

He was a Great Peanut Farmer and a Great President.

Re: RIP Jimmy Carter

No political content allowed, so I'll just say he seemed like a decent human being.

Re: RIP Jimmy Carter

I used to listen to Larry King when he did his radio gig forever ago. One time he had Jimmy Carter on as a guest talking about his book. Back then when Larry had a guest promoting a book you could call in (or maybe it was send in?) and purchase an autographed copy of the book by the author. My thought was when would I ever get a chance to have an autograph of a president? So I made it happen. When the book finally came I thought this is going to be cool. Probably something like, Mark, thank you for your support, Jimmy Carter. Nope it was just an embossed sticky backed label stuck in the book with his signature on it. I still think its kinda cool.

Re: RIP Jimmy Carter

Putting the politics aside, what I liked and will remember the most are the years after he was president. All the homes he helped build. The marriage to the same woman for decades. Teaching Sunday school. Didn’t hear a lot about all that at the time it was happening, but I do believe he did try to do his part to help the people here.

For Sure.

I still remember him and Trisha Yearwood in the house building for the Less Fortunate.

Re: RIP Jimmy Carter

Out there swinging a hammer for Habitat For Humanity, when he was even older than I am. We could use a bunch more presidents who walked that talk.
