was the interior color painted on the door jams if it was different then the exterior color??

No, they were painted at the same time at the factory.

Interior Medium Fawn was painted to extend beyond the weatherstrip pinch weld around the door opening and on the top of the rocker to the outermost edge on GMC models from 62-66. On Chevrolet, the exterior body color came inside the door opening and covered the entire rocker all the way to the pinch weld around the door.
