Wind strip

I have the retainers and the rubber for my lower wind lace but have not found an install guide for my 48. Do the screws go through the rubber into the floor or are they held on by one at each end. There are a number of holes through the retainer. A picture would be nice. Any help would be appreciated

Re: Wind strip

The rubber goes into a slot in the retainer, flip the flap up to get to the screws. The screws go through the holes in the retainer, through the rubber, and into the vertical surface of the step/floor. The screws are hidden under the wind lace when done. Picture in my build thread of part of the old rubber gone and the screw heads showing on pg.6 post #143. Picture of the inner door windlace on pg.7 post #165.

Re: Wind strip

I went out and looked at my 49 cab and I'd say that the best way to install it is slip the rubber down in the slot and use an awl, ice pick or drill bit to start the holes in the rubber from the back side (piece off the truck) put the screws in from the front (you have to fold the rubber back a bit and install it with all the screws started in place in the strip, start them all and tighten them down
