Door latches and catches

I have a 55 and was working on the door latches, 1st picture, when I noticed the difference in the two door catches. Does anyone know which one is original?

Then picture 2 shows one of the latches that has a thin metal shield, the screwdriver is inserted behind it. The other latch, picture 3, does not have that shield. Which one is original, and which is new?

Thanks

Re: Door latches and catches

I think the one with the rivets in the first picture is the new one and the molded one is the original.

I still don't have a clue as to the latches.

Re: Door latches and catches

The “thin metal shield” shown in picture 2 is an aftermarket repair shim that was used to take up wear in the latch. It is not original.
