So I have FINALLY joined the Heavy Hitter's Club 66 C60

So I have Finally joined the club...man it was a long 4 months of intense searching. fb people not sending pics or just replying after answering the first question (I don't do the auto replies, usually asking what the GVW on the tag says). Started looking at the c30 to C60 1955-1972 with an emphasis on the 67-68, found a few, usually ended with them not sending a few more pics (pro-hint: usually the ones who post only one pic are the real deadbeats!) and will promise more and never deliver, the ones that say make an offer are offended that you don't offer him 5K+ plus for his engineless rustbucket. I did have a few decent conversations, but we either couldn't agree on value or stopped after the 3rd reply (usually asking for the GVW AGAIN, which seems to be beyond their IQ level to find! Harsh I know but GVW is very important to me as I plan to put the truck to work immediately after its done with a road trip to recover my Korean War 1953 GMC M135 that has been stuck in a storage yard tooo long 4 states away!

After awhile I stopped expecting a second reply to my messages....I hit paydirt! Not only was it close, the price was right aaannnnddddd it had a title!

Made a dolly, rented a trailer. Found the fenders of the trailer were almost 2 inches higher....well made it work and loaded up the truck and headed to Beverly Hills...whoops that's a tv show, and headed home. Stopped by a car wash and removed 50 lbs of dirt, there's still some left even!

Here's the donor truck 2008 extended cab Cab and Chassis, which originally was going to be the work truck , but found not one shop wanted to touch the Duramax engine, correction there was one and a half shops willing. One shop had rebuilt the motor of this truck less than 60K ago, with less than stellar workmanship..surprised it lasted to near 60K actually! The other kept adding extra $$$$, going; boring is x per piston oh wait its a Dmax we need to add 75 a hole, oh its a dmax add 200 more for crank grinding...by the 5th Dmax premium tax addition, I asked the shop manager point blank, you really don't want to work on this motor... his reply "Nope" Needless to say I left.

I have already installed a Cummins 5.9 and Ford ZF-6 and decided I might as well go all the way and ditch the body and use an older one. Also have a Super Duty Ford D60 for the front
