Lower radiator hose

Getting ready to install a new champion radiator in my 70 gmc c1500. I figured out the top hose but having some issues with the lower. I see there are 2 options 1 with factory ac vs non ac. Mine was originally a non ac truck i believe but someone added classic air and switched to a later 1 piece seal block. I am looking at whats in the truck now but looks like it might not be right. Right now it looks like its a non ac hose (gates 20582) but the fit looks sketchy at best. Wondering if anyone knows a better hose to run.

Re: Lower radiator hose

Touching the frame will cut the hose in no time. Try rotating just one end or even both of the hose. You might get it off the frame. The hose is a cut to fit and may be too short

Re: Lower radiator hose

Oh yea I've got some post or thread on this forum somewhere concerning the lower radiator hose but I don't know how to find it.
My engine sits back with the IL-6 frame mounts so that didn't help and I wound up double clamping the hose to the radiator after someone suggested I may have to trim it, which helped.
At any rate no matter what you end up doing I would suggest you cut a slit along a piece of fuel line to protect the hose from chafing against the frame.
I got those things all over the place and it helps me sleep better at night.
