Cab patch panels

This is on a 65 C10. My cab has the standard rot and then some. Definitely needs floor patches, inner and outer rockers, cab corners, etc. No big deal, standard stuff for these trucks. My problem is that the lower door hinges are completely rotted away and the rust gets pretty far up in the cowl, probably more than most trucks would see. I’m struggling to find patches for these areas. The only thing I could come up with are these side panels for the cab, but at $1500/pair PLUS still needing all the lower panels, I can’t justify that kind of money. Is there a lower cost alternative to these? Finding another cab likely isn’t an option where I live.

Re: Cab patch panels

For the Lower A pillar. You'll probably just have to fabricate an extension for the commercially available patch panel. Which should be pretty simple. It's essentially just a " U " with flanges. You will also probably need to fabricate the cage that holds the hinge " nut/plate " also a pretty simple thing to fabricate.

The the cowl vent box area, I'm pretty sure I've seen patch panels for.

Edit - is this the other piece your looking for ?

Re: Cab patch panels

The cowl vent I can buy, but I’m basically looking for that entire A pillar below the windshield. I’m also not sure how much that inner piece is considered floor or firewall.

Re: Cab patch panels

Sitting in the truck looking at your feet. The firewall is vertical, the toe board is angled, the floor is horizontal. At least thats how I designate them. The A pillar is only the boxed " vertical " section ( on the side wall of the cab ) that supports the roof/windshield/door hinges. And ties in to the frt of the rockers and forward cab support.

On the side wall of the cab. There is an inner patch produced for the lower A pillar/side wall. But if your repairs extend above that piece. Towards the fresh air vent/cowl area. Your going to have to fabricate it. Or find a donor.
