70 3/4 front hub and drum assembly
Need to know a description of parts assembly for the wheel bearing assembly and parts as they go into place. Mine does not have a locking ring between the nuts and I think it should( part numberif possible) and how much end play there should be in the axle shaft, mine seems to move in and out a lot.

the 1970 dana 44 you have there is a one year only unit; it has open knuckles and drum brakes. every year prior had closed knuckles and drums, and every year after had open knuckles and discs. have you considered doing an axle swap to get front discs?
I know its on my list.

Drum Brakes
I am getting along fine with the old drums and they were new not to long ago so I think I'll just keep them for now.

Mr. grumpy, what rear end do you have and what gears did your 4wd come with? I'm looking at another c20 4wd w/ 4.10s. Thanks,
I hear you on the drums, mine are doing fine also. If you ever need front wheel cyclinders goto napa and get the ones for a 69 3/4 ton.

Gear ratios
Mine adds up to a 4.10, got to put new crown bearings in, whole lot of fun there! If you come across a blue center cap in half decent shape please send my way.
