1967 3/4 4x4 Burb production question

Hi All,

I am going to look at a 67 3/4 ton 4x4 burb. My question is did they make a 4x4 burb in 67? I have never seen one with the KE vin. I have seen 69 and 70 factory 4x4 burbs.

Just wondering....

Also, there are several posts about production numbers, and I was wondering if someone who has the production numbers could post them for 1967-1972 for trucks, blazers, panels, and suburban in the FAQ section??

A 67 4X4 3/4 ton Burb is going to be a pretty low production number. My book shows 299.

As a comparison.

11,004 1/2 ton 2wd

4259 1/2 ton 4wd

1047 3/4 ton 2wd

All numbers are for 67 Burbs. I don't know how many would be GMC's or if they are included in that number.

And if 67 was like other years, a barn-door model 4x4 is an even smaller percentage of 4x4 burb production than liftgate/tailgate model. Let's hope its a barn door burb!

Just brought the book "The standard catalog of American Light-Duty Trucks", and it shows that for the "Chevy" 1967 3/4 ton 4x4 Suburban, 120 were made. Does not show GMC numbers...

Took a look at it Friday night...

Well, it is a factory 67 3/4 ton 4x4 Subruban. Was yellow, now painted red (macco or Earl Schibe job). Body is OK, with very few dings, has bondo here and there. Has rust in all three rockers, and two front outriggers have rust. Every door has a little rust along bottom. It does have the barn doors. Both chrome bumpers are bent. It has the two front rows of seats. Has 350 chevy crate motor. Runs and drive well (although front driveshaft is out) and it has current registration. What should I offer him?? He said best offer and did not say what price has alreadby offered if any.

Big Pictures Here!!!

It's hard to tell exactly what's under that red paint as far as rust and bondo are concerned. It looks like the drivers side rear 1/4 area was painted recently. (That's the way it looks in the pictures?) I'd take a small magnet and carefully check all the lower parts of the truck for bondo'd areas.

What's he asking? Around here something like that would run $1000-$1500 tops.

What are your plans for it if you do buy it?

Well I had a 68 1/2 4x4 burb with gate not doors probably about same condition body wise but it didn't have the paint and got $2100 out of it here. This one is rare compared to it. Good luck, Randy

did you happen to nab a pic of the gb sticker?

that thing is damn sweet, even though it looks like someone hosed it down with mustard and ketchup. i wonder wht engine it originally had. but, it will have an SM420 tranny and the Rockwell transfer, unless someone swapped em out. I'd say start at $2500 and work up.

I agree with Adam....even with rusty rockers and a little door rust....a rare 4x4 (and 3-door ) burb like that i would price at around $2500 if not more. Along as it isn't a bondo-beast with lots of hidden problems anyway.

If he is asking for a offer tell him $1500 and go from there.

I have to agree with the rest. I'd say anything under $3000 would be a steal for that. Looking at all the additional pictures, it does not appear to be in that bad of shape. And if the production numbers are correct for a 67 3/4t Sub with barn doors, you probably should hope the seller does not have that info.

Plus the fact it is a rare three door! (or would it be a rarer five door?)

Hey John,

You sound like you are acting like I do! This won't get in front of time on the 67 will it?

I vowed I would sell something and not bring anything else home for a long while. Then the 71 K20 had to join the fleet last month!

I enjoyed trading emails the other day. Where did you hear about this one? Look forward to your next news on it.

Regards,

Cliff

Hi All, I talked to the guy last night, and he is asking $2500 firm. That is what it cost him to have a shop put in the new engine last year. So he is trying to recoop that cost. I offered him $1500, and I left him my number. I am going to wait a few days ad then call him again. I have been watching this burb for three months now, and he has not been able to sell it. The guy moved to Portland and burb is in front of his mom's house near Oakland CA, and he is not doing any advertising.

Ouch!! Oh well Mario, you got me there. I have working hard all this month to get rid of most of my other projects. The 2wd blazer has been traded for bodywork and paint on my 67. All of the motorcycles are for sale, and I have about four more days worth of work to get the Thunderbird back on the road and that will be sold as well. I am trying!!!
