May ToTM

Our Truck of the Month (ToTM) theme for this month’s contest is

Straight Course!

Yes, this is for our diehard in-line 6-pack members. To see what it takes to be a nominee this month, the truck will need to meet these criteria:
  • Open to all years and models of Trucks, Blazers, Suburbans, and Jimmys.
  • The vehicle nominated needs to belong to a board member during the time of the contest.
  • The truck has to be powered by an in-line 6 gasoline powered engine.
  • It must be together and able to move on its own power.
  • The truck has to be licensed for street use.
  • If a truck was selected as a 2024 or 2025 TOTM winner then you are ineligible. If the truck was nominated but not selected as a TOTM winner then it may be nominated and compete in this month's category.
To Nominate:

You or someone else may nominate the vehicle. The nominee must be a board member and the current owner of the truck. Once you decide on who you wish to nominate, just add your nomination to this thread. We will need two pictures minimum with at least one full view of the vehicle. In addition, we will need the owner’s board name and the Make/Model/Year of vehicle.

Nominations will run through April 19. The first 15 nominees that meet the criteria will participate in the contest We will need two pictures minimum (at least one full view of the vehicle) with/for the nomination as well as the owner’s board name, the Make/Model/Year of vehicle. I will PM the nominees to get any additional data or pictures if they have not already been provided. If the owner has a preferred picture they want used in the contest, please let me know in a PM. You can PM me for an e-mail address in case anyone has problems resizing the pictures for the board. A Poll Thread will be set up April 20 in this board area and an announcement will be posted on the Discussion Boards to notify all that voting has begun. The Poll will run thru the morning of May 1 and the official announcement of the winner will be on the evening of May 1. The announcement of the TOTM winner will be posted through the General Discussion Board area.

Re: May ToTM

I've made some upgrades to my old 6 last year. New aluminum radiator, chrome valve cover, and added heater. I'm planning on uprading the ignition switch, wiring and adding a fuse panel in the near future.

Re: May ToTM

I'd like to submit my '68 292 I6. It has an Edelbrock 4bbl, and Fenton headers, but is otherwise stock with a couple of polished aluminum dress-up items. The original rock-crushing 4 speed trans has been replaced with a Mustang T5 trans with a Sonoma tailshaft. these components push around a C20 flatbed with a factory installed dually third member.
The sun visors, dash pad, door panels, and seat have been covered in leather. Instrumentation is by Vintage including an air gauge to monitor the rear air bags.
All of the original wood, the sills, deck, and fences have been replaced with oak.
Alcoa wheels and polished stainless doored gear boxes round out the outfit.

Re: May ToTM

Submitting my '67 Suburban with factory 292 I6 and THM400. Mild engine upgrades include the HEI distributor and Offenhauser 4-bbl intake custom mated to a 1967 Rochester 4G (manual choke). The interior leather seating, lighting, and overhead console are from a '99 Suburban. Door panels and cargo panels are upholstered in the correct 1967 pattern. The truck has been in the family since day one and is currently being used and enjoyed by the second and third generations.
