Block identification
I recently purchased a truck 67-72 model, for parts for other projects.
It has been pieced together from trucks of every year, I believe, lol. I'm trying to identify the motor that is in it. The stamped numbers/ letters are 14J20200. F040*TA I am uncertain what the 5th character is. It is not stamped very well. Could be a C. G. O. or another letter that has an arch at the top. Thanks !!! |

Re: Block identification
To help narrow it down we need a little more info, is it a small block or big block?
14J20200- this is the partial VIN of the vehicle it was originally installed in. F040*TA For small blocks 'CTA' suffix could be a 400 out of a '74 Chevelle or Impala, or a 305 out of a '78 Monza 'DTA' could be 305 out of a Buick, Olds or Chevy passenger car No codes in my book that start with G or O
