So there are two different pedal setups for these trucks?

Both of these are from 1972 trucks, the one with the giant clutch spring is a 402/4spd.
The other setup is from a 292 truck.

I have a '68 C/10 with a 292 and SM465, and a '71 GMC Jimmy K/1500 with a 350/SM465/NP205.
I am guessing the HD spring is for K/- Trucks.
I have one of each of your examples in the rigs I am running.

And to elaborate on your question, Automatic Transmission models would not have any Clutch Pedal, so that's a third type.
