1967/68 Suburban Side Molding - WTB

Hello,

I am looking to buy any of the following side trim/molding pieces from a 67/68 Suburban:
1. Left rear quarter piece behind rear wheel
2. Right rear quarter piece behind rear wheel
Straight to the point, these are very hard to find and I am happy to pay very well for any of the pieces you might have that are in perfect/good/fairly good condition.

Thanks
Scot

I have the long piece and the 3rd door, but they need some work.

Re: 1967/68 Suburban Side Molding - WTB

Thank you for taking the time to reply and post pictures.

I have some experience with straightening and cleaning these up but I am not an expert with years of experience.
I am guessing that the long piece will be able to be improved but never fully be able to make those damaged areas like new again. I have one that had a soft dent in the flat face of it as well as other gentle issues and it cost me nearly $500 to repair. Unfortunately my long piece still has some pitting on the lower side. So I am still searching for one I can make like new.
The third door piece looks pretty reasonable though. I was able to buy the last new Mar-k 3rd door piece from Classic Industries and have a good used spare already.

Looks like shipping to me might be around $30.

I think I will pass on these ones, unless you are interested in selling them to me for $40 for both, then I would buy them to have just in case.

No pressure at all.

Thanks again for your time.

I was able to find a NOS GM long trim piece behind the driver's door online for $250, so now I am just looking for the two rearmost pieces behind the rear fenders.

Thank you to anyone in advance for taking the time to reply!

Thank you for your idea!

I ordered a long bed piece for the truck about a year ago to see if it would work on my Suburban.
It would certainly be better than having a missing piece of trim, and could pass as reasonable in many situations. But it has less curve at the end than the proper Suburban one, and it has a slightly different finishing angle on the back.
In general I think it is still a good back up plan, but am really hoping to find a couple of nice Suburban pieces still.
There weren't a lot of 67/68 Suburbans with the side trim to begin with, and then on top of that a lot of the Suburbans get dings and dents in the rear from backing into things because they are so big. So it is likely that a good portion of the rear side trim pieces were damaged over the years.

Mar-k USA was the only company making these parts up until they shut down. It sounds like someone new has bought them now and am really hoping they will start producing these trim pieces again soon. We will see.

In the meantime I am happy to pay well for the proper Suburban rear pieces in good shape........if they still exist somewhere out there!

Thanks again for your reply,
Scot
