I've been getting a WEIRD squeak/rattle, that's coming DIRECTLY from where my feet sit at (on the drivers side of the tranny hump). What's exactly under there that could be loose or broken? Just the tranny crossmember, and cab mounts right? I've checked all those, they're perfectly tight...

could it be exhaust or the catalyctic cover?they squeak and rattle or the u joint but thats more of squeak only

You know what I THINK happened...is a few years back, my father and I PATCHED it with a piece of sheet metal (because the floorboard rotted out) and THAT'S what's rattling...

Mine does something similar, it feels like its something knocking on the floorboard at my feet. I didnt change any floorboards. In fact my PATROL CAR does the same thing (CROWN VIC)

On my truck, the shift linkage is under there.

My truck does it sometimes too. Only when making a right hand turn. It was doing it for awhile, didnt do it all the time, maybe about 1 out of 5 turns. I havent noticed it for awhile now that I think about it. I wonder if it just went away.

You know what, now that I think about it even more

I dont think its made that sound since my door spring broke. The pins are no good, I really need to fix it. Well I opened the door getting gas one day and the spring snapped and half fell on the ground. Maybe it was the door pin doing it and the popping traveled into the floor pan. Now that the spring is not there, maybe it doesnt do it. Ill check in 10 minutes at lunch and see if the sound is gone.

EDIT:
Well my truck no longer does it. It must have something to do with the door pins and the spring. I noticed the popping sound around the same time I noticed the door sagging. I have been slacking and left the door sagging for awhile now. The sping (Z-shaped at hinge) broke and fell off. Not popped since the spring broke. Maybe check your door and see if it sags at all. Open the door a little bit and lift with the handle.

i would venture to say that's the closest thing that is a part of the vehicle. however, if you want to get technical, it would probably be a shoe, or a sock or some sort. unless of course you're driving barefoot, which i think is illegal in some states. anybody know for sure?

I'd also check the shock absorber bolt hole on the frame. If its damaged, you can feel it at your feet.
