OEM sound deadening
My 72 Cheyenne after carpet removal. I've owned this truck since 74 so I know it's original. I was reading that some higher trim trucks had sound deadening factory installed. Looks like a thick adhesive tar paper with a layer of foam underneath. I also have a spray coating on the inside of the doors. I put kilmat inside the doors and was going to do the cab floor, but not now. Looks pretty good and it's glued down. It's getting ACC mass backed carpet over the top next weekend.

Re: OEM sound deadening
My 71 Deluxe floor had the same material, but only in front of the bench seat, covered with a rubber mat. While yours looks fantastic, mine was a hot mess, and the rubber mat was worn out too. This pic. shows what was left of my board, yikes; much had turned to dust. Another good reason carpet > rubber mat I suppose.
A casting type material, like for a broken bone was laid underneath to insulate for the BBC RH exhaust manifold, as shown in this pic.
