Seatbelt Planet

Anyone here ever buy from Seatbelt Planet? They get very good reviews and have been quick to respond to my questions, but they don't always understand the question.

Here's what I'm looking at. Seems like the mounting bracket is well thought out.

Re: Seatbelt Planet

That's the same bracket you would get from Tom K who sells seatbelts here on the board. Don't hold me to it but I suspect seatbelt planet, Tom K here on the board and a couple other seat belt selling websites are resellers for "Seatbelt Solutions" so lots of the things out there come from the same place...

I believe Jason is correct.
I purchased my 3 points from Tom Korinek because other forum members here had reviewed and proven that they fit perfectly.
The retractors fit without any interference between the door and seat.
GM Logo on the buckle was the finishing touch.
I couldn’t be happier,
Good luck.

Re: Seatbelt Planet

I bought from them. I would pass. What they showed on their site isn't what I got. The retractors were the same for the left and right, which caused a mounting problem. I contacted them and was told they used a mirror image picture for the left side. They showed covers, but they were not included, but they sent them for free due to the picture issue. Unfortunately, the only way to mount them put the cover on the inside, not the outside, so they look stupid. The plastic pieces they gave for bucket seats that cover the belt on the static side didn't work too well either. There was no way to hold them in place and I ended up removing them altogether.

I would just pass honestly. Maybe it was just my bad luck, but buy off the guy on here.

Re: Seatbelt Planet

Why not just get stock belts? Those can get new webbing if needed.
I’m not a fan of the aftermarket belts, and most of the people I do seatbelts for don’t like them either.
They got them, but then after getting them they would rather have the stock belts. All of these have been restored for forum members.

Re: Seatbelt Planet

TKCR, could you restore a set of 1967 GMC belts with aircraft style buckles and not retractable. I have a couple of sets to work with.

Those look great, but many years ago my retractors failed and I don't know what I did with them. Had no idea that they were rebuildable.

TKCR --- Replaced the belts with these, but my goal now is to get self-retracting belts. What do you suggest?

I don’t have the buckles that look like those. They would look like these, but match the color you need.
And this set was also done for a Forum member

There’s a link to my FB page at the bottom, on my Signature. It would be easier to contact me there. Plus you can see more of the belts I have done, with the before and after pics.
