Thinking about selling my blazer.......

I hate the thought of getting rid of something I know I will probably never find again. I have put a lot of time and money into my 70 blazer. But I never drive the damn thing and it sits in my shop collecting dust. I am not 100% committed to selling it right now but I have been rolling the idea around. I would like some honest options from the group as to what I would be able to ask for it. I would have posted in the WIW section but it doesn't get many views. This thing has been gone through from top to bottom. IE, new engine with receipts, new interior, new tires, brakes, driveshafts, shocks, bluetooth custom auto sounds radio, no rust, door seals, window seals, new windshield, pretty much everything (has a new brake pedal pad and gas pedal now these pictures are from last spring).I also have a ton of pictures from the build. I would trust this thing to drive anywhere. Let me know what you think.

Lightbulb Re: Thinking about selling my blazer.......

What I see just going by the information supplied is an honest, original truck with a good patina.

Big pluses:

No rust in the body

Mechanically gone through and assumed to be sound

Not all modified and ruined like a lot of them have been

Detractors:

Drum brakes

Not a CST, however some CST features added

Not sure of engine, but original 350 Blazers had an emblem on front fender. If 307 or six, that will hurt value.

1971-72 preferred by a majority of buyers (I personally prefer the raccoon look)

Front and rear seat upholstery does not match

Previously mentioned Patina might not impress some prospective buyers

I'm seeing an easy $40k-$45k there

Get it while the market is still solid. At some point, the prices will crash, and they will be reasonable again.

Re: Thinking about selling my blazer.......

Should have done this 2 years ago whem prices were up 30%. Unfortunatelly not much is selling right now. You're better off keeping it for a while till the markets swing your way.

Re: Thinking about selling my blazer.......

Take a look at the completed auctions at the Bring a Trailer site for a look at what Blazers are selling for at present.

Re: Thinking about selling my blazer.......

Hello, I know that these trucks don't have a fixed price. They're like gold the price sometimes goes up and down. Ultimately they're gold you can use whenever you need it. These trucks are now 50 years old run very well and are easy to use and repair making them in demand all the time. I suggest you keep it if you don't need the money now. I also suggest you drive it and enjoy it. Time flies and so does your age When you get older money and the fun of driving are worth nothing.

What are you driving instead? I feel sorry for my two Z/28s and my Yukon because I almost never drive them - the Blazer is my go-to.

Re: Thinking about selling my blazer.......

My question would be why aren't you driving it? Are there some small changes you could make that would make you enjoy it more and start using it?

Re: Thinking about selling my blazer.......

Thanks for the replies everyone. I haven't made up my mind yet was just seeing what everyone thought it was worth. I haven't driven it much because I was given a company vehicle at work and I travel a lot. Some life changes might be happening soon and I just cant keep everything. I also have a 72 CST blazer that I would like to keep instead of this one. Thanks again and if I do happen to sell it, I will offer it here first.

Re: Thinking about selling my blazer.......

I can feel your vibe,it can be a chore to insure, register, and store vehicles especially when you own more than one and you don't feel like you are using them enough. These rigs are difficult to replace and if you are win a bind and need to sell than dont, its not like they are hard to sell for a proper asking price. The real question is how many of a particular make and model and how many particular makes can one person have ?
