Getting older and letting some hoarded SWB BBW stuff go

So I started this hobby a long time ago, and I have aged to a ripe 55 this last year, and now I am uncertain I have enough drive, energy and time to realistically build or finish building, any of several Short Fleet BBW's I collected over my lifetime. NONE can be driven or even cranked and none would be a "patina" candidate or I'd be driving it myself. These are all rare highly optioned trucks, but they are in a dark poorly lit storage facility so next to impossible to take photos or even drag them out into the light, so I am going to see who among you might want to try understanding from reading and may want to come in person and observe each that way to get the right perspective on what's really here. Each has been started on by at least one professional body shop, partially disassembled, worked on, then quit on. Each is a non-runner "project" so you'd have to be someone who frequently builds trucks from separated parts or someone who at least understands the concept of restoration and assembly of these. Depending on what deal gets struck at what price, I can roll in transport or charge or it, or assist in hauling what you can't carry yourself, etc - I'll go anywhere USA

Here's what is hoarded in this bldg (ALL SWB BBW) :

1) 1960 GMC 1000- came factory solid Black, Custom 305A V6 w/ upfitted 1962 GMC factory PS, overdrive and power brakes. OD trans was gone when I got it so I rebuilt a Hydramatic and started down the path to swap to factory Auto. A super solid California BBW cab was brought from CA, blasted and primed. Original BBW cab still here too, just had cracks in drip rail and some floor problems but not horrible. Bed was fully worked, primed, blocked and sealed so its technically ready to spray paint on. Hood, doors and other parts all blasted and primed. inner fenders, core support and front fenders blasted and allowed to rust (part of why I yanked the truck from the shop working on it). Frame fully restored and powdercoated. Everything minus glass is there to finish restoration. No rechromed parts, but has its super nice straight original grille and bumpers, and all the super rare short bed side stainless was sent to a polisher and straightened and polished. Rare hood jet, both unrestored and NOS available. NOS window washers also available, NOS 1960 GMC only arm rests, NOS hub caps, dozens of NOS things and 1960 GMC literature, etc. Special truck none of you have or even see anyone ever have. Example photo of a red and white version of what this factory solid Black truck looked like when new is attached. Selling it FAR under what I have in it at $10K but you aren't going to give me my shop time money back so it is what it is. Have to lose some money on the labor I paid for. You can buy it for less and leave the California cab here, and restore the original cab if you want to drop the price by $2000 bucks but only the guy who does his own welding and patching work would consider that.

2) 1962 GMC K1001: Very rare to find a short fleet BBW in a K truck, this one is the only truck I have thats not been started on, so its still wearing its patina blue and rusty as heck body. No replacement bed parts have been bought, but I did manage to get it a 110% rust free BBW replacement 4 speed cab for it (truck is a 3 speed actually but I was converting to 4 speed to have a PTO winch) and rust free doors, and rust free front fenders. So I did all the heavy lifting for you already. Cab is off a low miles one ton firetruck, so it doesn't get any better than that. Trucks original 305D V6 was locked up when I got it, so I procured a beautifully running 305D to replace it with. Found a uber-rare fully restored front winch and PTO assembly and not-rebuild 4 speed to replace the 3 speed it came with. Paid $2500 for the complete restored Winch setup including mount / cradle, fairlead mount, and its attached chrome front bumper w/ guards. Could buy the truck only w/ no extra cab and doors and no winch, or extras for 5K, or add the same extra cost $2500 I paid for the cab and doors and same $2500 I gave for the restored winch setup, PTO and not-restored 4 speed trans. Hood jet available, NOS window washers available. So thats 10K for everything.

3) 1966 GMC 1000 rare "Sports Trim" option truck:
I already know a bunch of you don't know what a Sports Trim option 66 GMC is, and thats because of how rarely seen they are. Without writing a novel explaining, its a special 1966-only interior option that included carpeting, special dash-cap paint, bucket seats and console, padded door panels etc. We can discuss when we talk and I will explain all about it. This one really hasn't been started either in that the actual Sports Trim option truck itself is still intact and untouched as I found it, but it was rusted out everywhere and needed "everything" so I acquired the sum of another man's would-be 64 GMC SWB BBW he had stripped and partially worked, to use as a base for restoring the rotted Sports Trim truck. The extra short frame is a super nice factory auto frame, and V6 ready where the original frame is setup for the inline 6 and manual trans. The BBW cab is very nice and has all the welding and cutting in the outer floors and cab corners done already so its back to 100% solid. No roof work inside or out - just typical lower work anyone would commit to like rockers. Found a super nice 62-66 hood and a mint set of 110% rust and dent free doors that could go with it. Bought a nice running no smoke 351 Magnum V6 w/ Powerglide combo to switch from the was inline 6 3 speed it came. Plan was to buy a new bed, so the only bed is the one it was born with, and while one bedside is actually nice, the other isn't. I do actually have an online photo album of this truck but do not have replacement cab and related parts pictures. Guesstimating I have about 9K in this one all total as it sits. So maybe 10K delivered if you carry one truck on your trailer and I carry the other on mine or something.

FINALLY THE SWB BBW CHEVROLET APACHES:

I don't even want to sell the Apaches to be honest, but I might - to the right buyer. Here's what we have:

4) 1961 Apache 10: I paid 10K to restore this one's entire body so its shiny and beautiful in most ways. Redone interior is 110% right in correct Charcoal and Silver. Exterior is Cardinal Red and White two tone. Some bubbling paint on the White area of the driver bedside stopped me from reassembling and building, and a couple areas he repainted are not completely done the way I wanted. Overall and from 5 feet away, looks like a show winner maybe.
NOS GM tailgate was used in this build. Factory 283 w/ PG was operating and running nicely when pulled but not rebuilt and reinstalled yet. Radiator rebuilt. All body parts professionally painted and still wrapped by the shop.
Two frames - the stock one under it and another identical factory V8 / automatic set of 60-62 short frame rails powdercoated w/ rear crossmember removed to accommodate a rear mounted gas tank (desirable in LS conversions). Really should not sell this one since its already painted and 110% rust free but if someone wants it, 20K with plenty of super nice related things like tach dash, beautiful hubcaps, repainted stock wheels, and of course, the super nice side stainless set. NOS Aluminum Grille available

5)1960 Apache 10: Unlike the 61 above, this one only got disassembled by a body shop who worked the one small palm-sized or smaller hole in the floor, sanded around on it here and there and primed areas they worked dents etc, and they repainted the hood and front bed panel, and wheels and the shop got foreclosed on so I had to go get it all took apart and half worked. This one was a 235 inline 6 w/ 3 speed and the guy I got it from swapped in a sweet operating 8800 actual mileage 348 big block from a 61 Chevy Spartan firetruck, coupled to a Aluminum powerglide. Its rust free and straight, but only halfway started on. I drove this truck and it drove like a dream and that engine was nice and powerful. Love this one maybe the most to be honest.
Don't want to sell this, but its in pieces, so lets just say 15K I guess on it if someone is froggy and wants the real deal holyfield with all the rare side trim and BBW, and stuff.

Lastly, if and only if, these two above trucks sell, I also have the rarest untouched survivor 60-61 Apache in the country. It was special ordered with EVERY factory option you could order in 1961 minus the BBW. EVERY OPTION - right down to the glovebox light and factory still installed and plumbed Cool-Pack AC. Turquoise and White two tone paint, Custom cab and comfort packages, 283 V8, automatic, PB, - all of it. The options on this one are currently destined to land on the Red and White 61 above I was restoring, but if someone buys that and wants to pony up for this expensive to own longbed parts truck, you could do what I was going to do and make the rarest apache in the USA from the two. Otherwise I may put the Cool Pack on the 60 Apache but if it also sells, I guess I would have to sell this cool-pack equipped Apache separate then.

If you read ALL the above, then you are either a builder / collector type, easily captivated by old truck lore, or both, so call me at 256 486 1988 to learn more and discuss you coming to visit, or maybe what photos I can manage to take despite the darkened storage problem.

Re: Getting older and letting some hoarded SWB BBW stuff go

Attached is an example of what the 60 GMC, 60 Apache and 66 Sports Trim trucks all once looked like for visual reference. The red and white 66 GMC pictured belongs to Jon Krogh and is shown here just as a longbed version of how my short bed 66 Sports Trim truck looked when it came from the factory.
