GMC Headlight Surrounds ?
Were these produced in both steel and aluminum ? I had a 68 that were painted white from the factory and steel if I remember correctly ? I came across a set that are chrome plated steel and got me wondering if they were offered in plain aluminum like Chevrolet ones…thanks

Re: GMC Headlight Surrounds ?
I have a '71 Jimmy K/1500 and its headlight surrounds are chromed steel. I also have a ('69 - '72? ) GMC Grille/Radiator Wall, I picked up from a local Blazer buff [and low rider builder] who had a shop downtown -- for $200. And it too has steel surrounds.
If the aftermarket vendors popped replacements out in alumunum -- anodized like the '68 Chevy trim -- I can't say, as I've never seen one. I've only been paying attention to GMCs since I bought my Jimmy in 1995. Prior to that, I thought of GMC as a different make.

Re: GMC Headlight Surrounds ?
I don't think they were ever aluminum. I had a 69 and 72 GMC and they had surface rust on the back...so they were clearly metal plated in chrome (at a lower grade)
