71 Cheyenne/20 "dually" got some attention...

I have had this truck for many years but never did much with it other than get it out and drive it a little every summer. Its kind of a fun truck but why it was ordered WITHOUT power steering is beyond me. Nicely optioned truck but does have some rust on it. All of the options are still present other than a 2bbl carb was added at some point.

On with the attention part, i got a call from an independent film company that was making a film in northern MN and said they needed a pre 73 truck that a mechanic would drive/own. I sent pics of a few of my old trucks/blazers/burbs but this was the one they wanted. Did a bunch of work on a lot of little neglected things, (lights, fluids tires etc) to make sure it was ready to go. They needed 3 people in front for one scene so i had to beef up the center console for a small person.
Spent 2 days on the set and learned a lot about what goes into the making of films. Not allowed to take many pics but they said i could take a couple.
Enjoy...

More pics...
For those wondering, i think the dually setup is possibly a JC whitney or something similar from back in the day. Goes down the road decent.
Pic 3 and 4 are hauling up to the movie set since it was about an hour away, and the last pic is on the set.

Very cool. I assume you can’t yet tell us the title of the movie but when you find out and are able to, let us know so we can check out your movie star!

I don't remember ever seeing pictures of this one..... Have you posted it before?

The rear fenders almost look like older Jeep pickup rears. Do you know?

That’s cool! Nice truck you have. If it’s one of those Hallmark Chick flick types of movies my wife watches them all the time haha. We might see it!

The movie is called "small town girl". Its a 1970s mystery movie with a message.

I think i posted a few pics when i first got it about 7-8 years ago. I am not sure about the rear fenders. They are fiberglass. I assumed they were part of a kit possibly.

Seems everything takes time on the set. Multiple shoots for the same scene, setup time, wardrobe, etc...

Excellent! Nice truck!

My wife occasionally watches the Hallmark movies. She gets annoyed when I'm looking around and calling out the old rides in the background. It seems to me the story lines are predictable, so I'm looking for a '70 something set of wheels in a '60 something movie.

Those Hallmark Channel movies are like the "Just So" stories we heard as children, but for adults. They really are formulaic.

Thanks. I was talking with the production manager and told him the hubcaps weren't quite correct, it may have too much rust for being only 2 years old, white letter radial tires and stuff like that were incorrect but he wasn't worried about anyone scrutinizing that closely.

There is not much compensation for doing this. If it was a regular job i would have lost money. The experience was worth it however...
