There is only one sure way, take it out and count!
If it is a 12 bolt truck axle it will probably be 30.

Tha factory 12 bolt truck axles have 30. I don't know about the others. Why are you asking? Buying new axles, or a posi?

If you are looking for a complete rear end, then it doesn't matter. Just have to do some welding for mounting. Get one from a full size car or truck. That way it will be able to handle the weight and power of your truck. If you are looking for parts, then it will matter. If you are looking to go from 6 lug to 5, you can use a set of axles from a 71-72 truck. Even in the 67-early 70 axles. I guess there is just a gap between the housing and the axle. Some other guys have done it and know better than I do what it takes. Good luck whatever you are doing.
