Camaro/Firebird Sway Bar on 67-72 Truck

I put a sway bar from a Camaro or Firebird, can't remember. I have had it for about 5 years and just now getting around to putting it on. I grabbed all the mounts with it also. They mount on these trucks well. However, my truck is C-notched so right where I was going to mount it, the brace was in the way of my original plan. The sway bar is 1 1/4 wide on both sides of the frame so most people make a spacer and bolt to the frame. I just used some 1 inch rectangular tubing and used an existing bolt in the notch. I highly recommend this modification. It was instantly noticeable.

Nice install. Looks like it was made for the truck. What year of F body sway bar is that?

Yup. We all need to know what year Camaro. Looks simple and clean.

Re: Camaro/Firebird Sway Bar on 67-72 Truck

I used parts from a 1996 camaro. I believe the same sway bar was used on 80s up to 2002 cameos and firebirds, mayne more. I was getting the calipers off for my disk brake swap and saw the sway bar and took a chance. I have seen them mounted in various ways, on top of the axle, flipped over and used facing forward off the trailing arms etc.

There were a variety of thicknesses on F body rear swaybars, with the Z28 probably being the thickest. Are you able to tell us what size you have?
