Talking C 20 Longhorn project problems

Hello all, unable to work on it, torn rotor cuff, looking at months to recover from surgery,
Sent it to local shop, here are the problems so far, all Classic Industries parts
New Gastank in ,New grommet doesn't fit ,grommets don't even look the same, new gas cap loose on New tank,is there difference between C10 C20 gas tank grommet?
New Tilt column for 700R4, park and low on column indicator not in correct positions, tranny working, do I need ,or is there a different, longer shifter rod from from column to tranny ?have all gear positioned, neutral safety works in Park n neutral, just doesn't have full travel range from Park to Low, rod clamped at very end
Factory seat out ,ragged but foam and springs intact, shop says if I buy hog ring pliers and kit they will fix seat w New seat cover
Factory / dealer install under dash A/C missing compressor , all other components intact,
Which aftermarket A/C should I go with.

So many questions and I can't work on it ,looked at truck this am and the shop is stopped working due to these issues. Seeking wisdom , knowledge and help. Any and all input welcomed
Thanks, good luck on all your projects

Re: C 20 Longhorn project problems

The Filling Station https://www.fillingstation.com/ Shows one gromet for 67/70 and a different one for 71/72. They are usually spot on on what fits what Chevrolet wise in their catalogs.

I looked up Classic industies and what they show for 69/72 is what the Filling station shows for 71/72. I think I have ordered one item from them in the past 20 years simply because they listed it and some of the others didn't but thay are not my go to truck trinket vendor by any stretch.

Gas cap I'd just get at the local Napa and make sure that it is a vented cap.

The one shown here is listed as being for your 70 C 20 and being vented.

Take care with that rotary cuff and do every bit of the rehab they give you and do it at home. Then don't lift or pull too much until well after you know that you are healed up. I had it a year and a half ago and may have to have the other shoulder fixed now.

Lokar makes shifter linkage kits where the attachment point at the transmission end can be adjusted to change the ratio.

Lokar ACA-1811

I put the OD 3-2 -1 on my tit column and the installerd use the Lokar 1800 on my truck, small block with 700R4 and the selectors line up perfectly.. https://lokar.com/aca-1800.html

Looking at Lokars site no length given on the 1800 but the 1811 shows a 26 inch rod. For me the Lokar was an after thought as without it I couldn't go right to 1 on the selector.

It looks good , just loose on dash . Good thing shop doing work has race car and racing on Friday, gives me a week to plan ahead for next operation. Any a d all input on what next steps should be?
