Seats. Lets talk about them!

I have tried searching on here. I havent found a recent thread in reference to seats.. I know there are a few companies out there but maybe I am missing some. Id like to compare as much as I can.. I will be looking to replace my bench soon.. Not sure If I am gonna go bench or buckets.. What are you guys running? and who should I look into? I am in Middle TN if that helps. I covered the seat that was in the truck. But the cover doesnt fit great. I think the seat is from 63-66 ish

Pic for color reference.. Im looking to go with something in a brown

Re: Seats. Lets talk about them!

Look into a set of slosh buckets made by slosh tubz, they mimic the look of buddy buckets however have custom options with foam and lowered bracketry. Best I can tell they don't sell the frames complete with upolstry however they may be able to hook you up with someone who does that. I believe it'll be pricey but nothing is too good for these trucks.....maybe someone with more knowledge on them will chime in because I'm wanting them for my 72!

I've never had one, but Snowden seats are usually at every big car show. They are beautiful and comfy.

Mike Losh is/was a member here; at least one of his project trucks, Cloud 9, should still be easily found on here.

Re: Seats. Lets talk about them!

I've inquired about the Slosh Bucketz option. The website options menu is easy to navigate. If you call, Mike is very helpful explaining the various options for the seat. He also has a local (to him) upholstery shop available if you want a completely finished seat shipped out.

Re: Seats. Lets talk about them!

Member loudchevy installed a set of Procar Lowback bucket seats in his truck that are a good fit. Here's his build thread. Take a look at post #380.

https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...847605&page=16

These seats can be purchased from Speedway Motors (right and left versions).
https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Proca...it,379651.html

They also sell a mounting frame that is similar to the buddy bucket frame.
https://www.speedwaymotors.com/1967-...el,457188.html

Speedway seems to only sell these seats in black or gray, but it appears that Procar makes them in beige, too.

Re: Seats. Lets talk about them!

I'm fortunate to have a best friend and next-door neighbor who does auto upholstery.
I took the factory seat and modified it to mount the upper portion of a late model Chevy truck console in the center.
My buddy cut and shaped the foam and sewed the cover for it.
I'm 6'2" tall, so he thinned down the back rests to give more shoulder room.
The design gives the option to haul three people

Re: Seats. Lets talk about them!

So because I'm cheap I searched car-part.com for bucket seats. I bought a pair of 2012 VW GTI seats. Paid $350 for the pair. They were very clean. They had lumbar, height adj and recline.
Pic of them as I bought them kind of a gray plaid cloth. I drove it for a year and I wasn't digging the gray plaid. So I bought some spray bomb fabric spray paint. The bolsters/head rests I made completely black. The center of the seat I used the black fabric paint but you could just see original plaid. See pic.
Great seats. Less than $400 invested.

Ricks Custom Upholstery made these. They are in Columbia Mo. They also do just covers if that's what you want.

I'm really enjoying my grey velour '97 60/40 split bench with power lumbar and fold down console.

Roughly $1500 for "buddy buckets" ? Seems like a really fair deal.

I built my own with some parts from a 90's ford seat added to a factory 69-70 seat.

It looks identical to the upper section that A1971Blazer used on his seat.
